Delivery emissions are projected to increase nearly a third by 2030. For last-mile, urban deliveries, this means a 78% increase and 25 million tonnes of carbon.
This is in spite of growing calls for carbon-neutral economies. With now 10 years left to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, the delivery industry is predicted to release the CO2 equivalent of burning 3.5 million trees.
Needless to say, we think it’s time for a change.
The world of combustion-engine delivery and ‘business as usual’?
No, thank you.
Introducing ecoeats: your zero emissions delivery service.
All ecoeats deliveries are made either by bike or by 100% electric vehicles. No greenhouse gas emissions, no noxious particles, no destroyed air quality: just direct delivery from your favourite restaurants to you.
But ecoeats doesn’t stop there.
We focus on partnering with local and independent businesses, rather than big brands.
Our partners include local favorites around St Andrews, all available on either our website or our ecoeats app, for Android or iOS. From a Friday night fish ‘n chips to your weekly groceries, ecoeats will deliver straight to your door in just a few clicks.
And the best part? Your order will support your community, be emissions-free, and it's great food for you!
Not Just Zero Emissions
The community we work with is essential to what we do at ecoeats. For us, that means doing away with predatory delivery commissions. It means highly competitive rates for our partners, for our delivery riders, and fair prices for you.
It also means we go beyond delivery. From coupon campaigns for everyday heroes, to engagement with student groups and the University, ecoeats is always looking for new ways to get involved.
No community should ever be squeezed dry in search of profit. Our goal is to build strong, fair foundations for businesses to grow, as we move towards a sustainable future.
So. Those 25 million tonnes of carbon from the delivery industry? We’d like to think we can do something about that.
