Sustainable Scottish Startup Expands to Glasgow with Brewdog Partnership

Glasgow, Scotland, 12th May 2021

On Thursday 13th May, Ecoeats will launch its zero-emissions delivery service in Glasgow’s vibrant West End. The Fife-based startup will begin accepting and delivering orders on behalf of Brewdog’s popular Kelvingrove location. The company promises a sustainable takeaway solution by providing delivery with a fleet of zero emissions electric vehicles (EVs) and bicycles.

Ecoeats hopes to partner with more Glasgow-based businesses to help them reach new customers and regulars alike.  The company offers delivery, collection and table service ordering options via their app and website:

Local talent is at the heart of Ecoeats’s business plan. Since launching in February 2020, the company has delivered over 45,000 orders from 39 partners in St Andrews.  Looking back on the last year, founder and CEO Philip Houseley said “We’re proud to have kept so many local restaurants connected to their customers during the pandemic. We’re thankful to all of our amazing customers that have made the switch to the Ecoeats zero emissions delivery platform. We look forward to delivering for the beautiful city of Glasgow and we hope we can assist in this great city’s recovery from the pandemic.”

As well as offering zero-emissions urban delivery, Ecoeats will shortly be launching an ambitious reusables scheme - making guilt-free, zero waste takeaway a reality. The scheme will involve providing restaurants with bespoke, multi-use containers. Customers can choose to have their food delivered in these zero-waste containers for small deposit. The containers will then be collected from the customer’s preferred location by Ecoeats, washed in an industrial facility, then returned to participating restaurants, completing the cycle and eliminating unnecessary waste.

The company utilises its custom in-house technology platform to service thousands of orders a week. Chief Technical Officer and Founder Stewart McGown said that “Our  world-class, in-house technology quickly and efficiently routes orders to customers on time and in great condition. Providing a reliable and high quality service like ours is a critical part of making sustainability convenient for consumers, riders and restaurants”.
